In August, it will be a year since we first met Jamie while walking through another home he was building. We knew almost immediately that the craftsmanship was something special, and that’s when we decided we wanted Lakenridge to build our forever home. Building a custom home is not for the faint of heart. It’s exciting, rewarding, stressful, and sometimes frustrating—all at the same time. Throughout the process, there were definitely challenges along the way, but we understood that mistakes would happen. What mattered most to us was that whenever we brought a concern to Jamie, he listened and made it right. That level of accountability gave us confidence throughout the build. He is very passionate about building a quality home, which he did for us! Paige was such a huge help with design decisions throughout the process. I happen to love design and ran with it, but she was always just a text message or phone call away as a sounding board. She was incredibly responsive, and I often found myself copying a lot of the decisions she made in another home because I loved her vision so much.
From start to finish, our home was completed in just eight months, which is impressive for a fully custom build, there were always people there working! You can tell Jamie and his entire team genuinely care about the homes they build and take pride in their work. A special thank you to Will and everyone at Borough Woodworks—their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and patience with all of my questions and requests were incredible. The finished woodwork throughout our home is absolutely beautiful!
Like many custom builds, we ended up going over our original budget due to rising vendor costs and a few upgrades we chose along the way. While that wasn’t ideal, we still feel the value of the finished home is absolutely worth it. We’ve been living in our home for less than a month, and every day we’re reminded that this was the right decision. Despite the stressful moments that naturally come with building a custom home, we would absolutely do it again and without hesitation, we would choose Lakenridge to build it.“ – Kristen Crews
